Ko Samui is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, some 700km south of Bangkok and about 80km from the eastern coastline of Southern Thailand. Samui is now the second most popular island destination in Thailand (after Phuket). Ko Samui may not be the country’s most beautiful island but it is still an oasis of natural beauty with its white sandy beaches, dazzling coral, luscious lagoons, picturesque waterfalls, swaying coconut trees and crystal clear water.
Ko Samui’s real estate market is still developing. There are few housing projects and a very small choice of condos but a good selection of apartments, bungalowsand private houses. Ko Samui is an island, which affects pricing. Everything is a little more expensive than on the mainland. This applies to Ko Samui’s propertiesas well. The main kind of property for rent here is a bungalow located in a shared piece of jungle. The downside to this arrangement can be disturbances from neighbours. However, they are usually available for short-term rental periods for the same price as long-term deals. It's not easy to find really beautiful condos andapartments for sale and for rent but there are hidden gems available. Usually these are custom-built private houses owned by foreigners. So, look at the photos below and choose your property.
